This past April, the TeachTEK team had the pleasure of hosting DATTASA (Design and Technology Teachers Association of South Australia) members for their annual AGM. The day was dedicated to connecting cutting-edge industry technology with the modern classroom, ensuring educators are equipped with the tools they need to inspire the next generation of designers and engineers.
The event provided a hands-on forum to explore our end-to-end classroom technology solutions. Members got to experience the hardware and software that are currently reshaping the educational landscape.
Hands-On with Interactive & Visual Solutions
A major focus of the day was giving DATTASA members a behind-the-scenes look at the visual technology driving student engagement. Our facility became a living laboratory where attendees could:
Trial Interactive Panels: Testing the latest in touch-sensitivity and software integration.
Experience LED Displays Up-Close: Understanding how high-definition, large-scale visuals can transform a lecture space or collaborative zone.
Explore Conferencing Solutions: Evaluating tools designed to support daily learning, remote collaboration, and guest speaker integration.
Introducing RealityTEK: A Cohesive VR/AR Ecosystem
The highlight of the event was the introduction of RealityTEK, our vision for a seamless, no-fuss immersion into virtual and augmented reality. For technology to work in schools, it must be powerful for students yet manageable for staff.
Our RealityTEK Master Station ecosystem featured:
PICO 4 Enterprise Ultra Headsets: Providing crystal-clear fidelity and ergonomic comfort.
ManageXR: Demonstrating how simple it is to deploy and manage a fleet of devices simultaneously.
EngageXR & ThingLink: Showcasing how students and staff can create and interact with immersive content without a steep learning curve.
The goal: putting creativity at the heart of learning while ensuring the technology doesn't eat into time for busy educators.
From the Moon to the Factory Floor
The live demonstrations gave DATTASA members experiences that would be impossible in a traditional classroom setting:
Lunar Architecture: We explored intricate SketchUp-generated models of architectural structures, placing participants directly on the moon's surface to analyse design and scale.
Robotics & Automation: With a click of a trigger, we transitioned into a deep dive into industrial tech, allowing members to stand within automated production cells and witness the differences between industrial and collaborative robots in a safe, virtual environment.
Looking Ahead
Hosting the DATTASA AGM was a fantastic opportunity to see how educators respond to the future of EdTech. By focusing on cohesive ecosystems rather than isolated gadgets, we are helping schools create high-engagement environments where students can design, build, and explore without limits.
Thank you to all the DATTASA members who attended. We look forward to seeing how these technologies continue to evolve in your classrooms!
