Across South Australia, preschools are receiving upgrades through the Department for Education’s Preschool Upgrade Project (PUP). This state-wide investment is improving Wi-Fi, devices and digital infrastructure in early learning settings.
TeachTEK is contributing to this work by delivering the AV (audio visual) component of the upgrades. Our role is to install AV systems that are straightforward, reliable and fit for everyday use in preschool classrooms. Whether it’s for group time, storytelling or sharing resources with staff, the aim is to make things easier for educators.
Each site is a little different. We’ve worked with staff to tailor each setup so it supports the space and the way it’s used.
“Fingerpaints are cool, but have you seen preschoolers using interactive screens?”
What We're Installing
Our AV installs are designed to:
Help educators present visual content with ease
Keep the setup clean and easy to manage
Integrate with the space without getting in the way
Work with familiar tools and minimal steps
These aren’t over-complicated systems. They’re set up to work quickly, with as little friction as possible, so staff can focus on the children, not the tech.
The Technology
The interactive display offers a natural writing experience, similar to drawing on paper, while also incorporating digital advantages such as mind mapping, inserting images and photos, drawing, and working across multiple pages. Content can be saved and edited at a later stage, making it easier for educators to prepare and reuse lesson material.
Wireless casting via ScreenBeam allows staff to project content directly from a laptop or iPad, while still using the interactive features on the screen. Common applications used directly on the displays include ABC Kids, YouTube Kids, and painting app, creating a fun, creative, and hands-on learning experience for students.
Depending on each preschool’s needs we will Install the display setup on one of the following systems:
Electric lift trolley – Ideal for sites that require flexibility, allowing the screen to be moved between rooms.
Electric wall lift – Suited for multipurpose spaces where both students and teachers need adjustable height access.
Fixed wall mount – A more budget-friendly option that provides a clean, permanent installation.

Making Technology More Usable for Staff
These AV upgrades are built around real use in busy classrooms. Staff need tools they can trust to work without fuss. That’s what we’ve aimed to deliver at every site.
As more preschools are upgraded, we’ll continue sharing updates from the field. If your preschool is part of the PUP rollout and you're preparing for an AV fit-out, we’re ready to help with advice, support and systems that work.
What would make AV more useful in your preschool?
Easier connection to devices
Better positioning/accessibility in the room
Less troubleshooting
Clearer training and support
